Creamy oats with caramelized nut sprinkle and honey drizzle


  • 45 ml butter
  • 250 ml steel cut oats
  • 3 x 250 ml boiling water
  • A pinch of salt
  • 125 ml cream
  • 30 – 45 ml caramelized mixed seed sprinkle
  • GOLDCREST honey


In a saucepan, heat the butter and add the oats.  Fry briefly. Add the boiling water and the salt and bring to the boil.  Lower the heat and cook for about 15 – 20 minutes until creamy and cooked.  Add a bit more water if necessary and to get the preferred thickness. Leave to stand for 5 minutes.  Stir in the cream. Serve immediately topped with caramelized nut sprinkle and a generous drizzle of GOLDCREST honey.

Sliced bananas, a sprinkling of cinnamon and GOLDCREST honey
Chopped apples, cranberries, pecan nuts and GOLDCREST honey
