  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the sauce:

  • 180ml  tomato purée / passata
  • 4 Tbsp Goldcrest Sweet Pepper Relish
  • 1 tsp garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 120g mozzarella or cheddar, grated

Topping options:

Chorizo, salami, ham, bacon, mushrooms, roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh cherry tomatoes, olives, artichokes, jalapeños… etc

For serving:

  • Fresh basil
  • 4 Tbsp Goldcrest Sweet Pepper Relish


  1. Preheat oven to 200˚C. Place the rack on the upper third of the oven.
  2. Brush slices of sourdough with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place on a baking tray lined with a wire rack and bake for 5-7 minutes, on one side only, until golden brown and crunchy.
  4. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small pot. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce until slightly thickened. Season to taste.
  6. Spread a few spoonfuls of sauce onto each slice of bread.
  7. Top with grated cheese and a mix of your favourite toppings.
  8. Season with salt, pepper and dried herbs.
  9. Return to the oven and bake until the cheese is melted, golden brown and the toppings have gone slightly crispy. About 5 more minutes.
  10. Dollop generous spoonfuls of Goldcrest Sweet Pepper Relish all over the pizza toasts.
  11. Scatter with fresh basil and serve!
